Augsburg College ranked 21 in U.S. News and World Report’s
annual ranking of ‘America’s Best Colleges’
The U.S. News and World Reports annual ranking of "America's Best Colleges" has been published, and Augsburg College is ranked 21st in the category of Midwestern Universities Master's Top Schools, which includes 42 private and public schools. This was up from a ranking of 24th last year.
The Midwestern Universities Master's Top Schools category, according to U.S. News and World Report, reflects schools which provide a full range of undergraduate and master's level programs, and few, if any, doctoral programs.
Augsburg College is ranked second in the "Reputation" category among other Minnesota schools, which include, Hamline, Bethel, The College of St. Catherine, and The College of St. Scholastica. Reputation is determined by surveying the presidents, provosts, and deans of admissions at institutions in a single category. According to the article, reputation is given the most weight because a "degree from a distinguished college so clearly helps graduates get good jobs or gain admission to top graduate programs."
In the category of Campus Diversity, Augsburg is ranked first among the other Minnesota Private Colleges and second in other Minnesota private and public institutions, trailing Metropolitan State University by only two percent.
