"A Critical View of Affirmative Action"

Peter Bell is executive vice president of publishing and educational services at the Hazelden Foundation in Center City, Minn., a nonprofit organization that provides alcohol and drug abuse services including treatment, prevention, research, and publishing.

Bell is nationally recognized for his work in the area of chemical dependence in the African-American community. He founded the Institute on Black Chemical Abuse, has served on White House and Congressional commissions on drug-free education, and has written on chemical dependency.

For five years, Bell was executive vice president of corporate community relations at TCF Financial Corporation. He also served on the transition team for Governor Jesse Ventura.
