"Jump at the Sun: The Life and Writings of Zora Neale Hurston"
"Jump at the Sun: The Life and Writings of Zora Neale Hurston" will be presented during an acting class on Tuesday, March 9, 11:50 a.m. in the Tjornholm-Nelson Theatre.
The piece is an educational theatrical presentation created by Jungle Theater artists Buffy Sedlachek and Bain Boehlke. "Jump at the Sun," starring Regina Williams, is based on the life of Hurston, an influential African-American anthropologist, writer and folklorist. Hurston has emerged as one of the most important figures in the Harlem Renaissance for her chronicling of the African-American experience. "Jump at the Sun" is co-sponsored by the Augsburg College Theatre Department and the Pan Afrikan Center. It is free and open to all Augsburg students, faculty and staff.
