Augsburg College recently hosted the ACTC Screenwriting Residency for student writers. The course is taught in a hybrid face-to-face and online environment by Oscar-nominated screenwriting Christina Lazaridi. Students met with Lazaridi in early July and have been working on their screenplays via BlackBoard. This past weekend students were back on campus in residency with Lazaridi for two full days of classes in the Women’s Resource Center.
Lazaridi wrote
the screenplay for Oscar-nominated "One Day Crossing," a film set
in Budapest, Hungary, on Oct. 15, 1944. It is a story about the struggle to
maintain identity and extend compassion in times of oppression and horror.
"One Day Crossing" premiered at the Museum of Modern Art as part
of the "New Directors, New Films" series. Lazaridi lives and works
in New York City and Los Angeles.
