Internationally acclaimed soprano, Audrey Stottler, to perform benefit concert for Twin Cities Public Schools
The Annual Mu Phi Epsilon
Concert, a benefit for the music programs of the public schools of Minneapolis
and Saint Paul, will take place Sunday, April 3 at 3 p.m. in the Hoversten
Chapel, Augsburg College. Internationally acclaimed soprano, Audrey Stottler,
will perform a recital of Italian arias and selections from Tristan und Isolde,
with accompaniment from Jim Reilly on piano. Student performers from the Minneapolis
and Saint Paul Public Schools will also join them on the program.

Minnesota born, Audrey Stottler, has performed all over the world, in opera
houses from the Metropolitan in New York City to the Mann Auditorium in Tel
Aviv, Israel. She has inaugurated two opera houses including the Hong Kong
Opera House with what has become her signature role, "Turandot."
Opera magazine described her performance as “a Turandot to be reckoned
with, of massive voice, yet capable of total control to the finest of effects.
Although Turandot’s character melted, Stottler’s voice did not,
retaining a passion and power to the end, never tiring, clear and lusciously
    beautiful."

Stottler concertized within what she considers her adopted country of Denmark
with an opera program that includes Verdi, Wagner, Strauss, and Puccini. In
addition to "Turandot," other notable roles for her have included
"Lady Macbeth," "Aida," "Amelia" in Un Ballo
in Maschera, and “Ariadne” in Ariadne aug Naxos.

Co-sponsoring this event are Augsburg College and the Minneapolis/St. Paul
