The Augsburg College Theatre Department proudly presents “The Illusion”
Pulitzer Prize-winning writer Tony Kushner, author of “Angels in America,” has freely adapted Corneille’s French neoclassical work, “L’Illusion Comique,” for a contemporary audience.
When a distraught father calls on the great magician Alcandre to conjure images from the life of his missing son, profound discoveries are made about reality and theatrical illusion.
Directed by Martha Johnson, this creative adaptation “offers the exquisite wordplay, beguiling comedy, and fierce intelligence found in all of Kushner’s work.”
