Monty Python's Terry Jones to Speak at Augsburg
Terry Jones, best known as part of Monty Python’s Flying Circus, will present “Medieval Lives” at Augsburg on Friday, Oct. 5 2007, at 7 p.m. in the Hoversten Chapel. Jones wrote and performed with this comedy troupe from 1969 to 1974. He also co-directed the film “Monty Python and the Holy Grail” with Terry Gilliam and directed Python’s “Life of Brian” and “Meaning of Life.”
Jones’ talk on this most-misunderstood era will point you to things that will surprise and provoke, that will make you think, and that will leave you smiling. Live music, door prizes and a book signing will follow the presentation.
This special presentation is a benefit for Medieval Minnesota, the summer camp at Augsburg College for students aged 14 - 17. Proceeds will go toward providing scholarships to the camp.
UPDATE: Tickets for the "Medieval Lives" event have sold out! However, Terry Jones will be in the Barnes & Noble at Augsburg on Saturday, Oct. 6, 2007 from noon - 2 p.m. to sign book copies for no additional charge.
