Norwegian and U.S. Ambassadors visit Augsburg
Knut Vollebaek, Norwegian Ambassador to the United States, and U.S. Ambassador to Norway, Benson Whitney, visited Augsburg on Wednesday, March 7.
Other members of the delegation included Rolf Willy Hansen (General Consulate, Minneapolis), former Augsburg President Bill Frame (representing the Norwegian-American Foundation), Grethe Bratlie (Deputy Director General of the Norwegian Ministry of Education), and Christian Hansson (Norwegian Embassy).
The delegation spent Wednesday morning on campus meeting with various groups of people to discuss student exchange programs between Norway and Augsburg. Their visit at Augsburg began with meeting President Paul C. Pribbenow and individuals involved with Augsburg’s international education exchange programs. Following Chapel, the delegation met with students (Norwegian students studying at Augsburg and Augsburg students who have studied in Norway) for a panel discussion. They then met with Augsburg faculty and staff to discuss connections between the College and Norway. The delegation joined Augsburg faculty and staff for the day’s community lunch before departing for the next stop on their tour.
