Jeanette Clark receives national hunger award
Jeanette Clark, Augsburg class of '07, was recently awarded the first annual Sodexho STOP Hunger Award for her commitment to the Campus Kitchen at Augsburg College (CKAC). The award is given to students in grades K - college at the 1,400 schools served by Sodexho who have made a significant impact in the fight against hunger in their community.
Clark's contributions to the CKAC program include: a founding member of Leadership Team; implemented CKAC's first Culinary Job Training program, which included nine graduates, two of them non-native English speakers; led CKAC's Turkeypalooza; helped coordinate Women's Night Out event in Minneapolis for East African immigrant community; and organized Auggie Service Day with a focus on hunger relief in Minneapolis.
During her time at Augsburg, Clark has also served as a campus ministry commissioner, and resident advisor. In the coming year Clark will serve at City South Cluster Ministries in South Minneapolis through the Lutheran Volunteer Corps, then plans to attend Seminary with the hope of serving in an urban congregation.
Clark will be officially recognized on June 11 at the annual Sodexho Foundation dinner.
