Kasidy Moore: A talent for singing and a head for business
Kasidy Moore has been singing for as long as she can remember.
Along with her cousins, she is part of "Ten.65," a gospel and jazz vocal group that performs around the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul at churches and festivals. When she is onstage, her heart is in the performance. But backstage, her mind is on making music her life's work.
"Music is a business-driven field," she says. "To be successful, you can't just see yourself as a performer." A recent Auggie Music Business grad, Kasidy knows that her degree will serve her well as she pursues her first love of singing.
This summer, Kasidy will be interning at Club 3 Degrees in downtown Minneapolis, putting both her love of music and her business sense to good practice. She will have the opportunity to work on marketing, promotions, and special events for one of the largest clubs in the city as she forges connections between the club and local college communities.
But she won't be abandoning her own music making. "I'm using the summer to build up my repertoire of songs," she says. With a talent for singing and a head for business, Kasidy's future looks to be in tune.
