Former St. Paul Mayor Jim Scheibel to work with Augsburg
Feb. 20, 2007
Former St. Paul Mayor Jim Scheibel has agreed to work with Augsburg College on several special projects over the next several months. While his work with Augsburg has not yet been fully defined, he will focus his efforts on helping the college refine its community relations’ strategies and extend the outreach of the many good programs already in place.
Scheibel’s extensive experience with community service includes a term as the mayor of St. Paul (1990-1994) and as the vice president of the Corporation for National Service. He also served as director of VISTA, president and CEO of Project for Pride in Living, and as a leader in America’s Promise.
“While Augsburg is already recognized nationally as a leader in service learning,” said Augsburg College President Paul Pribbenow, “I look forward to working with Jim to discover and explore additional partnerships and opportunities that will enable us to tell an even greater story about Augsburg’s good work.”
