Students place first at Pan-Afrikan Conference
Thirteen students from Augsburg attended the Pan-Afrikan Student Leadership Conference at Minnesota State University-Mankato in February. Rodney Dixon and Tiffany Ramm were named Mr. and Ms. Pan-Afrikan Talent Contest at the conference.
Rodney is a co-founder of Spoken Work University which is an organization that uses the art of spoken word as a tool to teach and demonstrate literacy. Rodney is a first-year Psychology major and Business minor.
Tiffany is a sophomore double majoring in Spanish and Social Work. She is also the Chaplain of the Pan-Afrikan Student Union.
Both students performed original spoken word pieces for their talent.
Aside from the Talent Contest the conference is a place to educate on the importance of the Pan-Afrikan experience.
