Mary Laurel True named "Woman of the Year"
The Anne Pederson Women's Resource Center recently presented its "Woman of the Year" Award to Mary Laurel True, associate director of the Augsburg Center for Service, Work and Learning, for her ongoing and outstanding work for the Center.
Since it first opened its doors in 2000, Mary has played an invaluable role in shaping vision, building community partnerships, and developing programming for the Center. Auntie's Closet, the Center's partnership with Women of Africa Resource and Development Association, and the Koryne Horbal Lecture collaboration with the Convocation Series are two examples of her work and efforts.
This is the first year the award has been given and Mary is being honored for her part in "Connecting Augsburg's women-past, present, and future-to each other and the world." (Anne Pederson Women's Resource Center motto)
