Auggie Connections
The first annual Auggie Connections event will bring together students, alumni, faculty, and staff to share experiences and to celebrate what makes Augsburg great.
Schedule of Events
Registration/Social Hour, OGC Lobby, 4-5 p.m.
Immediately following the Sabo Colloquium, guests are invited to the Oren Gateway Center lobby for a social hour/break. Coffee and cookies will be served.
Peanut Butter & Jelly Sandwich Challenge, OGC Lobby, 4-8 p.m.
Students, faculty, staff, and alums are encouraged to participate in this opportunity to give back to the community. Our challenge is to make at least 500 PB&J sandwiches to give to the Secure Waiting Homeless Shelter at the conclusion of the event--enough to feed all of their residents two sandwiches for a lunch meal. Sponsored by Campus Kitchens at Augsburg College.
Psychology Reunion Gathering, OGC 100, 4:30-7 p.m.
All graduates of the Psychology department are invited to reconnect with professors and other classmates. A short program will begin at 5 p.m.
English Alumni/ae Reunion and Reading, Bookstore, 4-5:30 p.m.

The McGyan Process and the Importance of Research
Speakers: Arlin Gyberg, Clayton McNeff '91, and Brian Krohn '08
Last year an Augsburg professor, a student, and an alum worked together to create the McGyan Process, a scientific discovery that may well be one of the most significant of our time. Chemistry Professor Arlin Gyberg, Clayton McNeff '91, and Brian Krohn '08 share the story of the endeavor that started with Krohn's undergraduate research project. His goal? To find a more efficient way to produce biodiesel. The end result was the McGyan Process, a biodiesel production method that is already revolutionizing the industry. Hear about this critical discovery, the value of undergraduate research both to students and to the public, and the importance of the connections we maintain with our alumni.

Creating your Own Personal or Family Mission Statement
Speaker: Doug Scott, AVP of Development, Augsburg College
In the business world, planning for growth and success is critical. Companies and corporations, colleges and universities, non-profit organizations all develop mission statements that provide guidance for achievement, success, and legacy. How To Create a Personal and Family Mission Statement will help to determine what is important in your life, will help us live out our values, and will provide a framework for creating personal and/or family legacy.

The Augsburg Promise and The Center for Faith and Learning
Speakers: David Tiede, Bernhard M. Christensen Chair and Tom Morgan, Executive Director, Augsburg Center for Faith and Learning
Participants will have the opportunity to learn about Augsburg's history through the vieweing of The Promise of Augsburg. Also hear about the Augsburg Center for Faith and Learning and the role the Center will play in advancing the College's long-standing commitment to the intersection of faith and learning.

See the World Through Another's Eyes
Speakers: Lisanne Morgan, Antonio Ortega, Fidel Xinico of the Center for Global Education
Since 1982 Augsburg College has provided quality cross-cultural educational opportunities that bring participants face-to-face with local people who represent various sectors of their society through the Center for Global Education. Come hear first hand accounts of Augsburg's commitment to global education and social and environmental responsibility from our own CGE faculty in Cuernavaca, Mexico and Guatemala.
Social Hour/Music Performance, OGC Lobby, 7-8 p.m.
Guests are invited to socialize over snacks, beverages, and the music of the Augsburg Jazz Ensemble. The PB&J Challenge will continue through the end of the social hour.
